AUGUST NEWSLETTER: Fabrication Flashback – BS EN 1090-1 certification!

Welcome to another edition of the Fabrication Flashback Newsletter!

August was another busy month for us, with exciting workshop projects and colleagues rallying to support charity fundraising. This time it was Debbie from our accounts team who lit up Nottingham’s streets with friends, walking to support loved ones! We were proud to back Debbie by sponsoring her – helping raise vital funds for life-saving research. In the last 50 years, Cancer Research UK has helped double cancer survival rates.

This month we are thrilled to touch on a milestone in Yates Engineering’s history: August 2015, when we achieved BS EN 1090-1 certification.

BS EN 1090-1 certification

In August 2015, we gained BS EN 1090-1 certification – the European standard for structural steel; meaning that the goods conform with European health, safety and environmental protection standards.

In line with Brexit, the CE mark was replaced with UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed) in January 2021.

UKCA Products

We supply UKCA-certified products to the building trade, including beams, trimmer angles, and cleats, shown below. You will also see an image showing Cleats in production in our workshop.
We also supply Footbridge Steel to the local authority as part of our UKCA – certified product range. You can see the steel in situ in the last image.
Thank you for staying connected with our monthly Flashback newsletters this year as we celebrate trading history milestones and reminisce about our company’s journey. Wishing you a great start to October, from all of us at Yates Engineering.
