Welcome to another edition of the Fabrication Flashback Newsletter! This time, we’re excited to share a significant milestone in Yates Engineering’s journey… the completion of our Yard Extension in 2014.
But first, we hope you all had a fantastic July! Our team stayed busy with a variety of new, innovative and exciting projects. One standout was the fabrication of custom Fork Extensions for Pedestrian Forklifts. These were designed using our advanced CAD system, plasma cut for precision and then folded to create durable, functional extension pieces as shown in the first photo.
Yard Extension 2014!
2014 marked a turning point for Yates Engineering. As the number and size of our projects grew, so did traffic around the yard. To keep people safe and improve efficiency, we expanded the yard, enabling safer, on-site loading and unloading of lorries away from the road.
Work Commenced!
One Saturday morning, Rob and David couldn’t resist getting started and they removed a section of the existing hedge, as shown in photo 2, to create the new entrance to the extended yard.
Photo 3 shows David reviewing the site at the end of Week 1, assessing progress and the yard extension’s appearance so far.
The last two weeks of the project focused on finishing with concrete and tarmac chippings as seen in the final two photos below. The expanded yard is proving highly functional and serves us perfectly. We can hardly imagine life without the extra space.
